Royal Enfield
Royal Enfield is one of the first bicycle and motorcycle manufacturer in the world. Royal Enfield origin the system's capabilities can be traced back to 1851 when George Townsend put up his hand-mill manufacturing in the end of hunting, a village in England. After he disappeared, his Jr. son of George Townsend has established a bicycle-manufacturing. In 1891, because of financial trouble Townsend of 'the company was succeeded by Albert and RW Edie Smith. They re-christened as the company 'Manufacturing Company Limited Edie.
Soon after, Albert Edie received a lucrative contract to supply parts to precision rifle royal factory of small arms in Enfield Middlesex. To celebrate the contract and Edie Smith decided to call the first new design of the bicycle, "Enfield '. A new company was created to launch the new market design will bike called "the business of manufacturing limited Enfield '. In 1893, the word Royal (after small arms Royal Arms Company) was added and Royal Enfield took place as well.
In 1909, Royal Enfield has launched its first motorcycle and during the First World War gave Royal Enfield motorcycles in the Department of British war. In 1931, the company provided a four-valve, single cylinder bike and called it ball .
In 1949, the ball was launched 350cc in India, when the engines Madras won an order from the Indian Army for the supply of motorcycles. In 1955, the Indian army has insisted that they continue to do business with Madras engines only if the ball was produced in indigenous and Enfield India was thus established. In 1993, the Eicher group company acquired Enfield India and changed its name to Royal Enfield motors limited.
