Harley-Davidson Motor Company is an American manufacturer of
motorcycles based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The company sells (over 750
cc) motorcycles designed for heavy cross on the road. Motorcycles
Harley-Davidson (popularly known as Harleys ) have a distinctive design
and exhaust. They are particularly noted for the tradition of heavy

In 1917, the United States wrote the first World War and the motor bikes have required the military to the war effort. Harley had already been used by soldiers in the border skirmishes with Pancho Villa but World War I was the first time the bike engine was adopted for the service of fighting. Harley-Davidson provided over 20,000 machines to military forces during the First World War.
In 1901, William S. Harley, age 21, has drawn up plans for a small engine with a displacement of 7.07 cubic inches (CC 116) and four-wheel-inch (102 mm). The engine was designed for use in a reinforcement of regular pedal-bicycle.
Over these next two years Harley and his youth friend Arthur Davidson worked on their motor-bicycle using the workshop of mechanical engineering on the north side to the house of their friend, Henry momentum M. It was finished in 1903 with assistance from the Arthur 'S brother, Walter Davidson. Upon completion the boys found their power-cycle unable to conquer Milwaukee 'S modest hills without pedal assistance. Harley and Davidson 's quickly eased their first motor-cycling as valid the experience of the study.
